Legal / Desklings: Focus Timer
Privacy policy.
This Privacy Policy explains how onething.tools (“Desklings,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in the Desklings mobile application (the “App”).
1. Who is responsible for your information
The data controller or equivalent responsible entity is:
onething.tools
privacy@onething.tools
2. Information Desklings handles
Information you enter
Desklings is a focus timer with desk companions. It keeps the name you choose to be called (optional), your tasks and task notes, your reason for the day, focus-session history, coins, the companions and decorations you unlock, how you arrange your desk, and preferences such as timer lengths, sounds, and appearance.
This information is stored locally on your device in the App’s database. Desklings does not require an account, has no server of its own, does not provide cloud synchronization, and does not send your tasks, notes, history, or name to us.
Device permissions and technical information
Desklings does not need contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera. If you allow it, Desklings schedules a local notification for when a focus round or break ends while you are outside the App; it is scheduled on your device and not sent through a server. Desklings may keep your screen awake during a focus round and may use haptic feedback. The operating system and app stores may process technical information needed to install, secure, update, and operate the App under their own policies.
Coins and unlocks
Coins are earned by focusing and are spent inside the App. They have no cash value and cannot be bought.
Purchases
Desklings Pro is bought through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment and does not share your payment details with us. To tell whether Pro is active, Desklings uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a random anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status and receipts, and basic device and technical information such as the device model, operating system version, and IP address. It does not receive your name, tasks, or notes, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain Desklings; confirm whether Desklings Pro is active and restore purchases; save your tasks, history, and preferences on your device; calculate rewards and statistics locally; personalize what your companions say; schedule end-of-round reminders; and respond to support requests.
Desklings does not use advertising networks or third-party analytics, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not load fonts or other content from the internet. The only network requests the App makes are to RevenueCat to check and restore purchases.
4. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information and do not receive the information stored in the App. We may disclose limited information you send us directly, such as a support email, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Desklings, users, or others.
5. Retention and deletion
Your information remains in the local database until you delete it in the App (for example, “Clear history and tasks” in Settings), delete the App’s data, or uninstall the App. Device backups may retain data under your device settings. Contact privacy@onething.tools with any questions.
6. Your choices and rights
You can leave your name blank, turn notifications off in iOS Settings, delete tasks and history, and contact us about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or other rights under local law. Where applicable, you may complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Children
Desklings is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information, and the App does not send children’s personal information to us.
8. Security
Local data is protected by your device and operating system. No storage method is completely secure; keep your device credentials secure.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Desklings or legal requirements change. The revised version will show a new “Last updated” date. Questions can be sent to privacy@onething.tools.
