Privacy policy

This policy covers the onething.tools website and its free tools. Each mobile app has its own privacy policy, linked from the app's page.

Calculators and other tools

The calculators and tools run in your browser. What you type into them stays on your device unless you choose to send a quote request (below).

Quote requests

If you tick the consent box and send a quote request, we store what you enter (ZIP or postal code, email, optional name and phone number, your timeline, your note) together with the job you sized in the calculator (for example the measurements and the result) and the page you used.

Who sees it: we may share that information with up to two local contractors so they can contact you about your job. We do not sell your details to anyone else and we do not use them for advertising. We cannot promise that a contractor will contact you or that you will receive a quote. We do not vet, license or insure the contractors and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor.

How long: requests are offered to contractors for about 7 days. We keep the record for up to 12 months to handle complaints and duplicates, then delete it.

Your choices: email support@onething.tools from the address you used and we will delete your request. Deleting a request does not undo a contact a contractor has already made.

Waitlists

If you join an app waitlist we store your email address and the app name, and use them only to tell you about that app's launch. You can remove yourself on the app page or by email.

Site statistics

We use self-hosted GoatCounter to count page views without cookies. We do not send your email address or quote request details to it.

Security

Data is stored on our own server and protected by access controls. No online service is perfectly secure, so we collect only what is needed for the request.
