How the 2 On 2 Off schedule works
The 2 on 2 off schedule repeats every four days: two 12-hour shifts, then two days off. It averages 42 hours a week. It is the simplest 12-hour rotation; the 2-2-3 (Pitman) adds a three-day block so every other weekend is off.
