A Pomodoro timer for your Mac, without installing anything
You do not need an app to use the Pomodoro technique on a Mac. This timer runs in any modern browser on macOS, including Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Open the page, press Start, and you get 25 minute focus rounds with 5 minute breaks and a longer break after four rounds.

Keep it handy while you work
Pin the tab in your browser so it stays one click away, or open the page in its own window and place it beside your work. The page title shows the time left, so you can read it from the tab bar. Use full screen if you want the disc on a second display. The countdown is based on the clock, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background.
Sound and notifications
A soft two-note chime plays when a round ends, as long as your Mac is not muted and the tab is allowed to play sound. Keep the page open for the chime to ring on time. If you prefer silence, turn the sound off and watch the disc instead.
Is a browser timer enough?
For most people, yes. It starts instantly, needs no permissions, and you can use it on a work Mac where you cannot install software. If you want your lengths remembered, choose them once; the page keeps your last choices on this device only.

Yes. This page is a free Pomodoro timer that works on a Mac in any modern browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create.
Do I need to install an app?
No. It runs in a browser tab, so you can use it on any Mac, including a work computer where you cannot install software.
Does it work in Safari?
Yes. It works in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on macOS.
Will it keep running if I switch to another app?
Yes. The countdown is calculated from the clock, so the time is right when you come back. Leave the tab open so the end chime can play on time.
Can I change the lengths?
Yes. Choose a preset or set focus, break and long break lengths in the cycle settings. The classic setting is 25 minutes of focus and a 5 minute break.
Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs or lock my phone?
The countdown is calculated from the clock, not by counting ticks, so the time left is always correct when you come back. Some phones pause the sound while the screen is locked, so keep this page open and the screen on if you need the chime to ring on time. The Keep screen on option helps where your browser supports it.
Does this timer save or upload anything?
