This timer is a simple helper, not medical advice or a treatment. It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

What is the Pomodoro technique?

The Pomodoro technique splits work into short rounds with breaks. The classic version is 25 minutes of focused work, then a 5 minute break. After four rounds you take a longer break, often 15 to 30 minutes. This 25 minute Pomodoro timer runs that cycle for you and counts the rounds you finish.

How to use this Pomodoro timer

Write what you will work on, then press Start. A shrinking disc shows how much of the 25 minutes is left, and a soft chime marks the switch to your break. The next round starts on its own, so you can stay in the work. Pause and Reset are always available, and you can change the lengths in the cycle settings if 25 and 5 do not suit you.

Tips to get more from each round

Pick one task per round and close the tabs you do not need. If something interrupts you, jot it down and come back to it on a break. Stand up, stretch or look away from the screen when the break starts instead of opening something new. Many people use 50 minutes of focus with a 10 minute break for deep reading or writing, which you can set here too.

No account, no download

The timer runs in your browser tab and nothing is uploaded. It works on a laptop, tablet or phone, and the countdown is based on the clock, so the time left is right even if you switch tabs. Soft rain and brown noise are generated in the page if you want something quiet in the background.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a Pomodoro?

A classic Pomodoro is 25 minutes of focused work, followed by a 5 minute break. After four Pomodoros you take a longer break of about 15 to 30 minutes. You can change every length on this page.

Is this Pomodoro timer free?

Yes. There is no signup, no ads in the timer and nothing to install. Open the page and press Start.

What is the best Pomodoro timer?

The best one is the one you will actually use. Look for adjustable lengths, a clear view of time left, a gentle end sound and an automatic switch between focus and break. This page has all of those, with no account.

Can I change the 25 minute length?

Yes. Pick a preset such as 15, 30 or 50 minutes, or set your own focus, break and long break lengths in the cycle settings.

Does it start the next round by itself?

Yes, auto-start is on for this page so rounds flow into breaks and back. Turn it off if you want to start each round yourself.

Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs or lock my phone?

The countdown is calculated from the clock, not by counting ticks, so the time left is always correct when you come back. Some phones pause the sound while the screen is locked, so keep this page open and the screen on if you need the chime to ring on time. The Keep screen on option helps where your browser supports it.

Does this timer save or upload anything?

No. The timer runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account. Only your last choices, such as sound on or off and the color, are remembered on your own device.
