How much does a concrete patio cost?
Published 2026 cost guides put a plain concrete patio at roughly $5 to $12 per square foot installed, with a broom finish at the low end and stamped, colored or exposed-aggregate finishes much higher. A 12 × 12 ft patio (144 sq ft) is about $720 to $1,730, a 10 × 10 ft patio about $500 to $1,200, a 12 × 16 ft patio about $960 to $2,300 and a 16 × 20 ft patio (320 sq ft) about $1,600 to $3,840 installed.

What changes the price of a patio
Size, thickness (4 inches is usual for a patio), the finish, a gravel base and forms, grading and drainage, steps or a retaining edge, how much grass or old paving has to be removed, and local labor rates. Smaller patios cost more per square foot because the fixed costs are spread over fewer feet.
Material cost: a worked example
A 12 × 12 ft patio at 4 inches with 10% waste needs about 1.96 cubic yards. At $160 per cubic yard of ready-mix that is about $313 of concrete, delivery and minimum-load fees extra. Mixing it yourself takes 88 bags of 80 lb, about $616 at $7 each. Bags avoid delivery minimums on small jobs, but 88 bags is a lot of mixing, so many people order a truck.
