Estimate only. Bag yields, material density and waste vary by product and supplier. Confirm quantities with your supplier and check local building codes before you buy or build.

How much does a concrete slab cost?

Material cost depends on your local price. A 12 × 10 ft slab at 4 inches needs about 1.63 cubic yards with waste. At $160 per cubic yard of ready-mix that is about $260 of concrete, while 74 bags of 80 lb at $7 each is about $520. Labor, forms, gravel, reinforcement and delivery fees are extra.

Bagged concrete vs ready-mix

Bags cost more per cubic yard but need no delivery minimum, which suits small jobs. Ready-mix is cheaper per yard but often has a minimum load and a short-load fee. The break-even is usually around 1 to 2 cubic yards.

What this estimate leaves out

The result covers concrete only. Add forms, gravel base, rebar or mesh, finishing tools and any pump or delivery charge. Ask your supplier for a written quote.

Frequently asked questions

How much does concrete cost per cubic yard?

Prices vary widely by region and supplier. Enter the ready-mix price you were quoted in the box above and the calculator multiplies it by your volume.

Is it cheaper to mix bags or order a truck?

For small jobs under about a cubic yard, bags avoid delivery minimums. For larger pours a truck is usually cheaper and much faster. Compare both with your local prices.

How much does a concrete floor or pad cost?

The concrete itself is volume × price. Enter your size and the ready-mix price per cubic yard, or your bag price, to see the material cost of a concrete pad or concrete floor. Labor, forms, base and finishing come on top and vary by region.

Does the estimate include labor?

No, only the concrete. Professional installation adds labor, forms, base and finishing.

How accurate is this estimate?

It is a planning estimate, not an order. Bag yields, material density and waste vary by product, supplier and job, so confirm quantities with your supplier and check local building codes before you buy or pour.
