Termite Treatment Cost Calculator

Termite treatment costs about $600 to $3,200 for a liquid soil barrier around a 2,000 sq ft home with a 200 ft foundation perimeter (typical about $1,900). Bait stations, spot treatment, fumigation and heat treatment price differently, so pick your method below to price your own.

How we estimate termite treatment cost

Prices come from Better Termite's "Termite Treatment Cost 2026" guide (updated September 2026, citing HomeGuide's 2026 figures and Mississippi State University Extension; checked October 2026): liquid barrier $3 to $16 per linear foot, bait systems $7 to $12 per linear foot ($1,500 to $3,000 initial), spot treatment $200 to $600, fumigation $1 to $4 per square foot, inspection $75 to $200 and liquid renewal $200 to $300 per year. HomeCostLab's 2026 guide adds heat treatment at $800 to $2,500, bait station monitoring and termite bonds at $200 to $400 per year and wood damage repair at $1,000 to $9,000 ($500 to $2,000 for cosmetic fixes). We use those figures as published.

Our own assumptions, not published figures: foundation perimeter of 1 linear foot per 10 square feet when you leave it blank; heat treatment at $0.80 to $2 per square foot within the published job range; minimum job prices ($500 to $1,000 for a liquid barrier, $1,500 to $2,000 for bait stations); a 15% higher price for Formosan or unidentified termites; 10% more for liquid and bait work through a slab or basement; 10% less for prevention and 35% more for an active or heavy infestation; and the materials versus labor split (materials 25% for liquid, 40% for bait, 20% for spot, 10% for fumigation, 5% for heat, 40% for repairs, none for inspection).

The typical figure is the midpoint of the low and high, not a statistical average. The yearly renewal or monitoring figure is shown separately and is not part of the one-time total. Prices vary by region and company, and the right method depends on the termite species, so confirm with a licensed pest control company. Fumigation requires vacating the home and is regulated by state. Figures are estimates for planning, not quotes, and we re-check the data yearly.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost?

Published 2026 guides put most single-family treatments at $1,000 to $2,000, with moderate infestations at $1,000 to $3,000 and severe ones needing several methods at $2,500 to $5,000 or more. By method, a liquid barrier is $3 to $16 per linear foot, bait stations $7 to $12 per linear foot, spot treatment $200 to $600 and fumigation $1 to $4 per square foot. The calculator shows low, typical and high totals for your home.

What is the cost of termite treatment for a 2,000 sq ft house?

With a 200 ft foundation perimeter, a liquid barrier runs about $600 to $3,200 using the published per-foot range, bait stations about $1,500 to $3,000, and fumigation $2,000 to $8,000 at $1 to $4 per square foot. Perimeter, foundation type and how bad the infestation is move the figure. Enter your own numbers to see line items.

How much does termite inspection cost?

Inspections cost about $75 to $200 where a company charges, and many pest control companies inspect for free. A wood-destroying insect (WDI) report for a home sale or loan is often priced separately. Tick the inspection box to add it to the total.

How much does a termite exterminator cost?

It depends on the method. Spot treatment starts near $200, a liquid barrier or bait system for a typical home is about $1,000 to $3,000, and tenting a large home can pass $5,000. Get written quotes from several licensed companies and compare the method, the area covered and the warranty.

How much does termite tenting or fumigation cost?

Published guides give $1 to $4 per square foot, or about $1,200 to $2,500 for a small home and $2,500 to $5,000 or more for a larger one. Fumigation is used mainly for drywood termites, requires everyone to vacate the home for several days and is regulated by state. Use a licensed company.

What does annual termite renewal or monitoring cost?

A liquid barrier renewal or termite bond is about $200 to $300 per year, and bait station monitoring about $200 to $400 per year. The calculator shows this yearly cost separately from the one-time treatment price and does not add it to the total.

Does the price include repairing termite damage?

No, unless you add a repair allowance. Published repair costs range from $500 to $2,000 for cosmetic fixes to $1,000 to $9,000 for typical wood damage, and severe structural damage can cost much more. Standard homeowners insurance usually excludes termite damage.
